CANTON, Ohio — 1480 WHBC will begin its 81st season of high school football coverage on Thursday night. The station’s broadcasts will be available in three formats: on the radio at 1480 WHBC, through a live stream on whbcsports.com, and via the station’s YouTube channel.

The opening game featured on radio and whbc.com is scheduled as the “Battle of 13th Street,” with Perry facing Central Catholic. Another matchup, Sandy Valley at Fairless, will be available exclusively online at whbcsports.com.

Friday night brings a tripleheader for listeners and viewers. Massillon is set to host Glenville at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium, which can be heard on 1480 WHBC. Dover will play GlenOak with coverage on whbcsports.com. The YouTube channel begins its season with Hoover hosting Buchtel.

One game has already been canceled this season. Northwest’s first contest against Norton in Canal Fulton was removed from the schedule due to cases of hand, foot and mouth disease among student-athletes at Norton.
