USA TODAY Sports has announced the 2025 ALL-USA Football Teams, honoring top high school football athletes from across the country. The recognition program marks the return of an initiative that last appeared in 2019 and has previously highlighted players who later achieved professional football success, including Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinee Thurman Thomas, Rod Woodson, and Emmitt Smith.
The ALL-USA program utilizes coverage from more than 200 publications within the USA TODAY Network. According to Chris Thomas, Executive Editor of Sports at Gannett | USA TODAY Network, “The fabric of sports across the nation begins with high school athletics, so it’s only fitting the USA TODAY Network would help shape the conversation. (…) These All-USA regional watchlists — and the All-USA teams at the end of the season — feature the best of the best competing across the country each Friday night this fall.”
Selections for nominees were made by journalists from across five regions: East, West, Midwest, Southeast, and Southwest. Criteria considered included performances during the 2024 season as well as preseason scouting and projections for 2025. The lists will be updated as athletes continue to perform throughout this year’s schedule leading up to playoffs and state championships. Coach of the Year honors will also be recognized in each region.
Final regional teams and a national team will be named in December. USA TODAY Sports indicated plans to expand ALL-USA honors into additional sports going forward.
