NFL legend Troy Aikman, residing in Montecito, California, has no plans to connect with his famous neighbors, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Despite living near the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Aikman has not crossed paths with them. In an interview with Us Weekly, Aikman explained that his social circle does not overlap with the royals. While promoting his EIGHT Elite Light Beer, he joked, “I don’t think they’re drinking much light beer,” hinting at a cultural gap between him and the royal couple.
Aikman said, “I haven’t run into them. But they are there, from what I can gather. I think anyone with a heartbeat knows that they’re out there,” adding humorously, “But I’m not hanging with them, that’s for sure.”
Since moving to Montecito in 2020 after stepping back from royal duties, Harry and Meghan have drawn attention to the area. Their presence has reportedly led to increased traffic and rising property prices. However, they have formed connections with other notable residents like Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King.
Aikman remains focused on his broadcasting career as part of ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” team alongside Joe Buck. Having transitioned from playing football to sports commentary in 2001, he continues to be a prominent figure in American sports media.
While Aikman may not engage with Montecito’s royal residents, he is content pursuing his own interests without royal involvement.
