TNT Sports has announced its programming plans for the upcoming Big 12 football season. The network’s debut year will feature live games, studio shows, behind-the-scenes features, and magazine programming across TNT, truTV, HBO Max, and Bleacher Report.
“The debut season will include live games, studio shows, behind-the-scenes features, and magazine programming airing on TNT, truTV, HBO Max, and Bleacher Report,” according to the announcement.
The coverage begins on Saturday, Aug. 30 with Arizona hosting Hawaii at 10:30 p.m. on TNT, truTV, and HBO Max. J.B. Long will provide play-by-play commentary with Mike Golic Jr. as analyst and Allie LaForce reporting from the sidelines.
Studio analysis for the season will include former players Champ Bailey, Takeo Spikes, and Victor Cruz. Adam Lefkoe will serve as host throughout the football schedule.
To accompany game broadcasts, TNT Sports is introducing “XII Uncovered,” a weekly series that premieres Aug. 30 at 9:30 p.m. on truTV and HBO Max. The show will present behind-the-scenes segments focused on Big 12 teams appearing in the network’s lineup.
Additionally, truTV and HBO Max will broadcast “Inside the 12,” a magazine-style program hosted by Pete Sousa and Taylor McHargue airing Thursdays at 6:30 p.m., highlighting upcoming games and interviews from across the conference. Expanded coverage is planned once basketball season starts.
Bleacher Report is launching new content to engage fans further with original concepts such as “Field Study”—which pairs Big 12 players with coaches for film breakdowns—and “Alumni Walk,” which covers campus tailgates featuring prominent alumni returning to their schools.
Highlights and storylines will also be shared continuously through Bleacher Report’s social platforms including House of Highlights and B/R CFB.
TNT Sports acquired rights to air Big 12 games as part of an agreement between Warner Bros. Discovery and the NBA. Thirteen football games each year are moving from ESPN‘s streaming service to WBD channels TNT or TBS beginning this academic year for six seasons. ESPN is sublicensing fifteen men’s basketball games annually to run on either TNT or TBS during this period.
