NFL Hall of Famer Tim Brown will serve as Sports Marshal for this year’s Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival, according to organizers.

The festival made the announcement last week, naming Brown—a former Notre Dame standout and longtime Raiders wide receiver—who will make several appearances during the event. “The Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival announced last week that NFL Hall of Famer and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Brown will serve as this year’s Sports Marshal,” the group said.

Brown gained national attention at Notre Dame by becoming the first wide receiver to win the Heisman Trophy in 1987. Drafted sixth overall by the Raiders, he played 16 seasons with the franchise and earned the nickname “Mr. Raider.” Over his career, Brown ranks just behind Jerry Rice in total receiving yards and is fifth all-time in career receptions, finishing with more than 1,000 catches. He holds team records for receptions, receiving yards, and punt return yards for the Raiders.

Following his retirement from football, Brown was enshrined in both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and College Football Hall of Fame. Off the field, he has focused on community work including educating children about emergency preparedness through “9-1-1 for Kids” and serving as an ambassador for physical fitness programs. Additionally, he has worked as a host and commentator on radio and television platforms.

During Enshrinement Week events at the festival, Brown is scheduled to appear at both parades and speak at the Sports Breakfast.

Further updates regarding Brown’s involvement may be provided by festival organizers as plans progress.
