Three UNLV Rebels named to annual Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List

The thirteenth annual Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List has been released and includes three football players from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The award honors the top offensive player in Division I football who embodies qualities associated with Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinee Earl Campbell, such as integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community involvement and tenacity to overcome adversity.

To be considered for the award, nominees must have played at and graduated from a Texas high school or currently play at a Texas Division I four-year college. The three UNLV athletes named are junior quarterback Alex Orji (Sachse High School), senior wide receiver Troy Omeire (Fort Bend Austin High School), and senior wide receiver JoJo Earle (Aledo High School).

The Watch List will be reduced to up to 16 semifinalists in November before narrowing again to up to five finalists in December. A selection committee made up of broadcasters, commentators, journalists, fans and previous winners will choose the winner. The announcement is scheduled for December with recognition planned for Jan. 21, 2026 at The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Banquet in Tyler, Texas.

Under first-year head coach Dan Mullen, UNLV is set to begin its 58th football season on Saturday by hosting Idaho State.
