One sportsbook has listed odds for Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin as the first National Football League coach to be fired this season, placing him at 28/1—eleventh-highest among league coaches.
Despite these odds, a midseason coaching change in Pittsburgh is considered highly unlikely. The franchise has not dismissed a head coach during the season since the 1960s. Tomlin’s contract also runs through 2027, making him one of the highest-paid coaches in the league.
The Steelers have not secured a playoff victory since 2017. However, team owner Art Rooney II has consistently expressed support for Tomlin. Rooney said he values Tomlin’s leadership and his ability to connect with players.
