South Dallas native, former Woodrow star Tim Brown featured in Pro Football Hall of Fame event

Former South Dallas Woodrow Wilson H.S. football standout Tim Brown will be recognized as part of an event celebrating Notre Dame at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.                        

The event, titled “Gold Helmet to Gold Jacket,” will be held April 17 at the Pro Football Hall in Canton, Ohio.                        

Brown, 58, and fellow Notre Dame alum and San Francisco 49er Bryant Young will appear in person at the event.                        

There are 14 former Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, tied for first among colleges with Southern California.                        

Brown played for Notre Dame from 1984 to 1987, winning the Heisman Trophy in 1987, after starring for the Woodrow Wilson Wildcats from 1981-1983.       

Brown was inducted into the Pro Football Hall in 2015. He is one of only ten Hall members to have won the Heisman.                        

He played for the Los Angeles/Oakland Raiders from 1988-2003 and for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2004. Brown currently serves as chairman and commissioner of the Arena Football League. He lives in Dallas with his wife, Sherice, and their four children.                        

The 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Week Presented by Novartis, including the Hall of Fame Game kicking off the NFL Season, is July 31-Aug. 3 in Canton. The Hall currently has 382 members.
