South Carolina running back Rahsul Faison has been cleared by the NCAA to play for the upcoming football season, ending months of anticipation among fans and members of the program.
Faison shared his reaction on social media, writing, “Thank you God ” (Rahsul Faison). His post quickly drew responses from Gamecock supporters expressing enthusiasm and encouragement.
Supporters responded with their own messages online, including one who said, “Doak Walker and Natty in the same year would go crazy on the resume ” (Mgn Ty).
South Carolina Athletic Director Jeremiah Donati commented on the decision. “I applaud the NCAA for looking at all of the facts in Rahsul Faison’s appeal and making the right decision today. He has been patiently waiting for this decision, and we share in his excitement to have one more year of eligibility and be a member of our football team this year.…” (Jeremiah Donati).
The approval comes just days before South Carolina is set to begin its 2025 season.
