ESPN has announced that multi-platinum recording artist Saweetie will be the first-ever female music curator for Monday Night Football during the 2025-26 National Football League season. Saweetie will select tracks for various ESPN Monday Night Football games, which will be featured in promotional segments, live broadcasts, and on “Monday Night Countdown.”
To mark the beginning of this initiative, ESPN is hosting a pop-up nail salon event on Sept. 6 at 21 Greene St. in New York City from noon to 5 p.m. Eastern Time. The event will allow fans to receive game-inspired nail designs as they prepare for the new football season, which starts Sept. 8 with a matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears.
Saweetie commented, “Football has always been in my blood, so I’m beyond grateful to be the first female curator for Monday Night Football on ESPN (…) Pull up to the NYC pop-up on Sept. 6 and get icy—fresh nails included—before the NFL season kicks off.” Curtis Friends, Vice President of Sports Marketing at ESPN, stated, “Bringing Saweetie into the fold as our Monday Night Football music curator is more than the tracks themselves – she has that energy, persona and cultural impact that resonates with the game (…) This pop-up nail salon shows why because now we can bring her creativity and passion for nails to life in a fresh, fun way that has fans ready for Monday Night Football on ESPN.”
Saweetie’s song “Pressure” from her recently released EP “Hella Pressure” will feature in creative promotions ahead of Week 1’s Vikings-Bears game.
Previous music curators for ESPN’s Monday Night Football have included J Balvin (2024), Timbaland & Justin Timberlake (2023), Marshmello (2022), Drake (2021), DJ Khaled (2020), and Diplo (2019).
Monday Night Football returns for the 2025 NFL season with announcers Joe Buck, Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinee Troy Aikman, Lisa Salters, and Laura Rutledge. ESPN’s schedule includes 25 games: 21 Monday Night Football matchups, a Week 18 Doubleheader Saturday, plus both Wild Card and Divisional playoff games held on Monday night.
The schedule highlights include multiple appearances by teams such as the Kansas City Chiefs facing both the Washington Commanders in Week 8 and traveling to play against Jacksonville in Week 5. Other notable games are Detroit Lions versus Baltimore Ravens in Week 3 and Philadelphia Eagles meeting Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field during Week 10—a rematch from last year’s Wild Card game.
