A report from the Kansas City Star states that a bullet was fired into the office of Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid in May 2024 while he was present. According to the newspaper, which cited multiple sources, Reid was alone in his office when a bullet broke through the window and blinds, lodging itself in a wall between his bathroom and the entry door. The incident occurred at the Chiefs’ practice facility.

Following the event, the team installed bulletproof glass at Reid’s office. The Kansas City Star reported that two more bullets also struck other parts of the facility: one hit a third-floor area and another damaged an outdoor air-conditioning unit. The newspaper noted that few people within the organization were aware of these events.

A spokesperson for the Kansas City Chiefs declined to comment on Wednesday night.

This episode took place just months after Reid led the team to consecutive Super Bowl championships, securing their third title in five years. Last season, after winning another AFC championship, they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Reid has coached for 12 seasons with Kansas City and 14 with Philadelphia, achieving a career record of 273-146-1. He currently ranks fourth on the NFL’s all-time wins list behind Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinees Don Shula, Bill Belichick, and George Halas.
