Tim Brown was born in Dallas on July 22, 1966. He went to Woodrow Wilson High School. At first, he played in the school band. He joined the football team in his sophomore year. He became a top player in both football and track. Despite his team’s losing record, he was recruited by major colleges.

He chose Notre Dame. He played from 1984 to 1987. He set multiple records and won the 1987 Heisman Trophy. He was the first wide receiver to do so.

In 1988, the Raiders drafted him. He spent 16 seasons with them. He made the Pro Bowl nine times. He set team records in receptions and return yards. He later played for the Buccaneers before retiring. He finished his career with over 19,000 total yards and 105 touchdowns. In 2015, he entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Brown stayed active in sports. He worked as a broadcaster and football executive. He also led youth outreach programs. As of 2023, he serves as commissioner of The Arena League. Brown remains tied to Dallas through his early life and high school career.

Brown is remembered for his nine Pro Bowl selections and setting numerous records and milestones as a wide receiver for the Oakland Raiders.

Tim Brown amassed 1,094 receptions and 14,934 receiving yards throughout his Hall of Fame career as a wide receiver.
