Alan Page was born on August 7, 1945, in Canton, Ohio. He grew up in a working-class family. His parents taught him to work hard and value education. His mother died when he was thirteen. He stayed focused on school and sports. He graduated from Canton Central Catholic High School in 1963. He played multiple sports but stood out in football.

In college, he played for Notre Dame. In 1966, he helped win a national championship. He was a top NFL draft pick in 1967. He played for the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears. He became known for his speed, strength, and consistency. He never missed a game in 15 seasons. He was named NFL MVP in 1971—the first defensive player to win it.

He studied law while still playing football. He earned a law degree in 1978. He worked as a lawyer, then a judge. In 1992, he was elected to the Minnesota Supreme Court. He served until his retirement in 2015.

He and his wife Diane founded the Page Education Foundation. It helps students of color succeed in school. In 2018, he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He has written books, collected historical artifacts, and spoken out for education rights.

Alan Page’s life shows dedication, focus, and service. He succeeded in two careers. He gave back to his community. He continues to inspire many.

Alan Page played in 238 straight games, recorded 173 sacks, and was selected for 9 straight Pro Bowls throughout his Hall of Fame career as a defensive tackle.

Alan Page was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1988, his first year of eligibility.
