Reggie White among top ’80s NFL players in new list

With the football season underway, a list of the 25 coolest football players from the 1980s has been released. This era in the NFL was notable for its stylish quarterbacks and charismatic running backs. Defensive players were known for their intimidating presence and impressive physiques.

Among those highlighted is Reggie White, celebrated both on and off the field. Known as “The Minister of Defense,” White earned respect from his peers for his skill and character. His career included being a 13-time Pro Bowl selection and winning the NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award twice, in 1987 and again in 1998.

White’s impact was significant during Super Bowl XXXI, where he recorded three sacks that contributed to the Green Bay Packers’ victory. Throughout his Hall of Fame career as a defensive end, he achieved 198 career sacks.
