The Los Angeles Rams have been recognized for their successful draft history, with seven players named as the best picks ever at their respective draft slots. This recognition comes from an analysis by NFL analyst Ben Solak, who evaluated the best player selected at each draft position from No. 1 to 262.
Jack Youngblood, chosen 20th overall in 1971, is one of these standout players. Youngblood spent his entire career with the Rams, earning five All-Pro selections and seven Pro Bowl appearances before being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Aaron Donald, drafted 13th overall in 2014, was also highlighted. Despite competition from Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez, Solak chose Donald due to his impressive record, including eight first-team All-Pro selections and a notable 20.5 sacks in the 2018 season.
Puka Nacua, a more recent addition to the NFL, was recognized as the best player picked at No. 177 overall. Entering his third year in the league, Nacua’s selection may surprise some given his short tenure.
Other Rams players mentioned include Kevin Greene (113th pick in 1985), Fred Miller (141st pick in 1996), Ryan Fitzpatrick (250th pick in 2005), and Scott Shanle (251st pick in 2003).
Additionally, former Rams Andrew Whitworth and Aeneas Williams were acknowledged for their achievements at other teams’ draft slots. Whitworth was picked by the Cincinnati Bengals at No. 55 overall, while Williams was selected by the Arizona Cardinals at No. 59.
The Rams’ strong representation on this list underscores their historical success in drafting talented players.
