ESPN has launched the third season of its original series “Eli’s Places” on ESPN+. The show is produced by Omaha Productions and NFL Films and runs for ten episodes. Former NFL quarterback Eli Manning travels to various college football locations in the United States, exploring traditions and stories within the sport.
In this season, Manning participates in activities such as setting a toilet paper world record at Auburn’s Toomer’s Corner, energizing the Georgia Bulldogs with head coach Kirby Smart, and bringing back his character Chad Powers with actor Glen Powell. The program also explores topics like the creation of Gatorade with Steve Spurrier and remembers Mike Leach’s legacy.
Guest appearances include former athletes and coaches such as Andrew Luck, Martellus Bennett, Colt McCoy, Pro Football Hall of Fame Coach Bill Cowher, Kirby Smart, Bo Nix, Steve Sarkisian, Kliff Kingsbury, James Austin Johnson, Kyle Brandt and others.
Manning said: “I’m thrilled to be back for Season 3 and to continue telling all the great stories college football has to offer (…) We’re featuring so many incredible athletes and teams from campuses across the country, and even break a world record this season!”
The weekly release schedule begins Aug. 27 with an episode set at Auburn University. Subsequent episodes cover topics including college football finances at Stanford with Andrew Luck (Sept. 10), school traditions at Texas A&M (Oct. 1), honoring Mike Leach in Key West (Oct. 15), mascot tryouts at Oklahoma (Oct. 22), and reconstructing classic highlights from the College All-Star Game with Hall of Famer Cowher (Oct. 29).
ESPN Originals offers fans access to major sports moments through series such as “Man in the Arena: Tom Brady,” “Peyton’s Places,” “In the Arena: Serena Williams,” “Full Court Press,” and “Clutch: The NBA Playoffs.” These are available via an enhanced ESPN App that integrates multiple features for users who subscribe either directly or via traditional TV packages.
