On August 2, 1975, four prominent figures in professional football were inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This year marks the 50th anniversary of their enshrinement. The inductees included offensive tackles Roosevelt “Rosey” Brown and George Connor, along with wide receiver Dante Lavelli and flanker/halfback Lenny Moore.
Lenny Moore had a standout career with the Baltimore Colts, where he accumulated 1,638 total yards and scored 14 touchdowns during the team’s run to the 1958 NFL championship. Following this achievement, Moore was named first-team All-Pro for three consecutive seasons and again in 1964. From 1963 to 1965, he set an NFL record by scoring at least one touchdown in 18 consecutive games.
Moore played alongside Hall of Fame quarterback Johnny Unitas and was selected for the Pro Bowl seven times throughout his career. Over his 12-season tenure, Moore amassed a total of 12,451 combined net yards and scored 113 touchdowns. His versatility on the field is well-remembered as he excelled in both halfback and flanker positions.
