Ten years have passed since the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2015 was inducted in Canton, Ohio. On August 8, 2015, eight football figures were honored: six players and two contributors. This milestone marks the enshrinement anniversary of running back Jerome Bettis, wide receiver Tim Brown, linebacker and defensive end Charles Haley, contributor Bill Polian, linebacker Junior Seau, guard Will Shields, center Mick Tingelhoff, and contributor Ron Wolf.
Jerome Bettis, known as “The Bus” for his powerful running style, retired ranked fifth all-time in rushing yards with 13,662 on 3,479 carries and scored 94 touchdowns. His career included accumulating 1,449 yards on 200 receptions with three touchdowns while playing for the Steelers and Rams. Bettis was selected for the Pro Bowl six times and received first-team All-Pro honors twice. He was also named Rookie of the Year by several media outlets.
Bettis is remembered for a significant moment during a playoff game in 2005 against the Indianapolis Colts when he fumbled at the goal line. The error nearly cost the Steelers the game but was rectified by a teammate’s tackle on the defender.
