Chad Johnson, known as Ochocinco, has shared his opinion on the greatest wide receivers in NFL history, placing Randy Moss and Terrell Owens above Jerry Rice. Despite acknowledging Rice’s achievements and impact on the game, Johnson believes Moss and Owens are unmatched. “To me, Randy [Moss] and [Terrell Owens], we will never see anything like that ever again. I saw that up close with my own eyes,” he said.

Randy Moss is often celebrated as one of the top players in NFL history. He led the league in touchdown receptions five times, with a record 23 touchdowns in 2007. His career total of 156 touchdowns ranks second only to Rice. Terrell Owens, known as “T.O.”, was a dominant force during his 15-year career, leading the league in touchdown receptions three times. He ranks third all-time with 15,934 yards and 153 touchdowns. Owens’ performance in Super Bowl XXXIX is particularly memorable for his nine receptions and 122 yards while playing with a broken leg.

However, Owens’ off-field behavior has affected his reputation among some fans and colleagues. The comparison between these players highlights their respective accomplishments: Jerry Rice holds records with 1,549 receptions, 22,895 yards, and 197 touchdowns; Randy Moss recorded 982 receptions for 15,292 yards; Terrell Owens achieved 1,078 receptions for his yardage total.

Ochocinco’s preference may be influenced by his direct competition against Moss and Owens during their overlapping careers. While Rice concluded his career as Johnson was emerging as a star player.

Randy Moss was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018 during his first year of eligibility after amassing significant career statistics including six Pro Bowl selections.
