The 2025 National Football Conference East Division preview points to the Philadelphia Eagles as the division’s team to beat. After securing a Super Bowl LIX win against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Eagles retain much of their roster and leadership. The season opens on Sept. 4 at Lincoln Financial Field, with Philadelphia facing the Dallas Cowboys.

The Dallas Cowboys begin the season facing uncertainty after trading defender Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers due to unresolved contract negotiations. Parsons signed a four-year agreement reportedly worth $188 million, with $136 million guaranteed, making him one of the highest-paid non-quarterbacks in league history. Last year, Dallas finished third in the division with a 7-10 record, missing postseason play.

The New York Giants seek recovery after finishing last season tied for the league’s worst record at 3-14. Changes include moving on from quarterback Daniel Jones and bringing in veteran Russell Wilson along with rookie Jaxson Dart to compete at quarterback.

Washington Commanders aim for greater consistency following a playoff run as a Wild Card team, despite not defeating any division opponents during the previous regular season or playoffs. Their postseason included an upset of Tampa Bay and Detroit before losing to Philadelphia in the conference championship.

Key players highlighted for each franchise are CeeDee Lamb (Dallas Cowboys), Malik Nabers (New York Giants), Saquon Barkley (Philadelphia Eagles), and Jayden Daniels (Washington Commanders).

The Philadelphia Eagles’ roster includes quarterback Jalen Hurts, running back Saquon Barkley—an MVP finalist last season—and wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Barkley recorded over 2,000 total yards and 13 touchdowns last year, providing stability alongside Hurts, who was named Super Bowl MVP.

Social media updates from official team accounts confirm preparations are underway for all teams ahead of kickoff.
