University of Louisville quarterback Miller Moss has been named to the watch list for the 2025 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, which is given each year to the top senior or upperclassman quarterback on track to graduate with their class. The award, now in its 39th year, recognizes excellence both on and off the field.
Moss joins Louisville in 2025 after four years at the University of Southern California. In 2024, Moss made nine starts, completed 233-of-362 passes for 2,555 yards, and threw for 18 touchdowns. He had four games with more than 300 passing yards and led USC to a win over nationally ranked LSU by completing 27-of-36 passes for 378 yards and one touchdown.
The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award is presented by the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation along with A. O. Smith Corporation. The mission of these organizations focuses on advancing football while promoting character, leadership, and academic achievement among young athletes.
This year marks a new partnership between the Foundation and Leveling the Playing Field (LPF), a nonprofit organization that provides sports equipment to underserved communities. The goal is to expand access and equity in youth sports so every child can experience athletics’ benefits. Together with A. O. Smith and LPF, the Foundation aims to give young people tools and opportunities for success.
The University of Louisville will start its regular season on Aug. 30 against Eastern Kentucky at 3 p.m.
