The Ben and Adith Miller Classic, held on August 11, 2025 at Cedar Valley Golf Course in Winona, raised $125,000 for the Ben and Adith Miller Patient Care Fund. The annual golf outing is organized by the Winona Health Foundation to provide financial assistance to community members needing medical care.
Pro Football Hall of Famer John Randle demonstrated golf techniques during the event. The Patient Care Fund was established in 1986 by Benjamin Miller in honor of his wife, Adith, as a resource for helping people pay for their medical care at Winona Health.
Roderick Baker, associate vice president of development with the Winona Health Foundation, said, “Our sponsors, participants, and volunteers who supported this fundraiser for the Ben and Adith Miller Patient Care Fund are truly making a difference in the lives of our patients (…) This fund provides both financial relief and peace of mind to people when they are dealing with a health issue and need help with medical expenses. The support really matters.” He added: “The Miller family carries on Ben and Adith Miller’s legacy of generosity. This makes such a positive impact and difference to people here in the Winona area (…) We are grateful for their steadfast support.”
Since its inception in 1986, the fund has helped 8,464 people pay more than $16.2 million in medical costs. Last year alone, it assisted 293 patients with $451,807 in financial help.
The fund aligns with Winona Health’s vision to foster an inclusive and compassionate community health movement. Contributions are accepted throughout the year. More information about donating can be found at www.winonahealth.org/foundation.
