Micah Parsons, a standout linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys, has removed all references to the team from his social media profiles as tensions over his contract situation continue. This development follows reports that Parsons recently requested a trade and that negotiations between the two sides have stalled.
The situation escalated when Cowboys owner Jerry Jones discussed the ongoing contract discussions during an appearance on the Michael Irvin Podcast. According to Jones, during a previous round of negotiations in March, Parsons’ agent David Mulugheta allegedly made a derogatory remark towards him.
“Cowboys owner Jerry Jones talking to Michael Irvin on his YouTube channel about Jones’ contract negotiations with Micah Parsons back in March: ‘When we wanted to send the (contract) details to the agent, the agent told us to stick it up our ass.’”
Jones also addressed other aspects of the negotiation process and indicated that he is willing to use the franchise tag on Parsons in 2026 and 2027 if necessary. “This clip of Jerry Jones explaining the Micah Parsons situation is worth your time: – Offered him the most guaranteed money of any defensive player in NFL history (confirming a @startelegram report from Aug. 3) – Implies that he is prepared to tag him in ‘26 & ‘27 – Explains…”
Mulugheta has denied making any such comment to Jones.
In response to recent comments and developments, Parsons took down all Dallas Cowboys-related content from his Twitter/X profile and posted a cryptic tweet: “”.
With less than two weeks until their season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, it appears increasingly unlikely that Parsons will be available for play, despite head coach Brian Schottenheimer expressing confidence that he would participate. Notably, Parsons has not practiced with the team throughout summer.
The situation remains unresolved as both sides stand firm ahead of the upcoming season.
