The NFL is known for its iconic players, but some remarkable athletes have not received the recognition they deserve. One such player is LeRoy Butler, a former safety who played from 1990 to 2001. Butler is credited with creating the famous Lambeau Leap touchdown celebration in Green Bay. Throughout his career, he was selected for the Pro Bowl four times and was named an All-Pro four times as well. He also won a Super Bowl championship with the Packers in Super Bowl XXXI.

Despite these achievements, Butler’s contributions were often overlooked during his playing days. It wasn’t until 2022 that he was inducted into the Hall of Fame, highlighting how underrated he was throughout his career.

“LeRoy Butler was the dude who invented the Lambeau Leap TD in Green Bay,” notes a source familiar with his career. His delayed recognition reflects “just how underrated he was during his career.”
