The Las Vegas Raiders have updated their 2026 National Football League draft picks following a trade with the Cleveland Browns that brought in quarterback Kenny Pickett. The transaction, completed on Monday, involved the Raiders trading away a 2026 fifth-round pick to acquire Pickett as their new backup quarterback.
Pickett’s arrival comes after current Raiders backup Aidan O’Connell suffered a fractured wrist during the preseason finale against the Arizona Cardinals. O’Connell is expected to miss six to eight weeks.
After this trade, the Raiders hold selections in rounds one, two, three, four, six, and seven of the 2026 draft. In addition to these regular picks, they also are projected to receive compensatory fourth- and fifth-round picks. According to Over The Cap, these compensatory selections are due to the free-agent departures of safety Tre’von Moehrig to the Carolina Panthers and cornerback Nate Hobbs to the Green Bay Packers.
The move means Pickett now joins a small group of players who have been traded at least three times within their first four seasons in the league. Only Sam Howell shares this distinction over the past three decades. Pickett was initially traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024 before being moved from Philadelphia to Cleveland in 2025.
If Pickett is traded once more during his career, he will tie for most trades by any National Football League player—a record currently shared by Brandin Cooks and Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinee Eric Dickerson at four trades each.
