Lamar Jackson has responded to recent speculation about his foot injury, following an update from NFL insider Adam Schefter. Concerns grew among fans after Jackson left practice early when his foot was stepped on. Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh addressed these concerns, saying, “Prayers do get answered. I’m sure it’s a little sore today so we just kept him in, but he’s fine. He’s going to be good.”
Despite Harbaugh’s comments that X-rays were negative and that Jackson would recover, Schefter suggested the injury might be more serious than initially reported by the team. In reaction to this, Jackson called out Schefter with a laughing emoji on social media.
Schefter later acknowledged the team’s decision regarding Jackson’s health: “They don’t have to have Lamar Jackson out there right now. They need him out there for the start of the regular season, so I would imagine they’d give that foot a couple of weeks to heal.” He added, “They’re going to be smart with Lamar Jackson and they’re not going to stick him out there any sooner than he has to be.”
Jackson had notable statistics in 2024, throwing for 4,172 yards with 41 touchdowns and four interceptions; he also rushed for 915 yards and four additional scores. The Ravens finished as the top seed in the AFC with a record of 13-4 but were eliminated from the playoffs after losing to the Buffalo Bills.
Additionally, Jackson recently resolved a year-long dispute over No. 8 with former National Football League quarterback Troy Aikman.
