With college football‘s Week 0 approaching, analysts are focusing on player prop bets for the upcoming game between Fresno State and Kansas. The matchup will take place on Saturday, Aug. 23 at 6:30 p.m. ET at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kansas, with coverage on FOX.

Kansas enters the contest as a 13.5-point favorite. A key storyline for this game is E.J. Warner starting as quarterback for Fresno State after transferring from Rice, while Jalon Daniels returns to lead Kansas.

Among the highlighted player props is E.J. Warner over 182.5 passing yards, Daniel Hishaw Jr. under 86.5 rushing yards, and Jalon Daniels as an anytime touchdown scorer.

Warner is noted as the son of former National Football League quarterback Kurt Eugene Warner and has established himself as a high-volume passer during his previous college seasons, averaging over 246 passing yards per game at Rice last year and more than 307 yards at Temple the prior year.

Fresno State’s offensive coordinator Josh Davis comes from South Dakota at the Football Championship Subdivision level, where quarterbacks under his system frequently surpassed similar yardage thresholds. Kansas’ defense allowed significant production to opposing passers last season.

On the Kansas side, Daniel Hishaw Jr. steps into a starting role following Devin Neal’s departure to the National Football League. While Hishaw averaged 5.8 yards per carry previously, he faces new challenges with higher usage against a Fresno State defense led by head coach Matt Entz, who helped improve Southern California’s rush defense rankings before joining Fresno State.

Jalon Daniels is also expected to be involved in Kansas’ ground game due to personnel changes in the backfield and has shown ability to score in past seasons with six touchdowns recorded last year.

Bettors are reminded that lines and odds are subject to change ahead of kickoff.
