The 2025 National Football League season will feature new offerings for viewers on YouTube and YouTube TV, including expanded access to live games, new commentator teams, and flexible viewing options.
YouTube has announced that the opening Friday game of the season will be streamed exclusively and for free to a global audience. The matchup between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs will take place in São Paulo, Brazil, on Sept. 5 at 8 p.m. ET. Viewers worldwide can watch on both YouTube and the YouTube TV app. In the United States, YouTube TV members will also have access to features such as key plays, stats, scores, and Fantasy View. English and Spanish-language broadcast options will be available.
The event will include commentary from Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinee Kurt Warner and broadcaster Rich Eisen. Sideline reporting will be handled by Stacey Dales alongside digital creator Deestroying. Kay Adams and former National Football League MVP Cam Newton will host pregame and postgame shows. Musical artist KAROL G is scheduled to perform during halftime.
Additional coverage options include Watch With streams hosted by creators iShowSpeed, Tom Grossi (in English), Robegrill, and SKabeche (in Spanish). These streams offer various perspectives ranging from analytical discussions to comedic commentary.
Flexible plans for NFL Sunday Ticket are being introduced this season with a Month-to-Month option that allows subscribers to cancel anytime during the regular season. New users may subscribe for $85 per month up to four payments. Returning users pay $115 per month with YouTube TV or $145 per month directly through YouTube. A Season Pass remains available at $276 or eight monthly payments of $34.50 for new users.
YouTube states it is expanding its multiview feature so that subscribers with NFL Sunday Ticket can choose from more combinations of local and national games during the season.
