LeRoy Butler, known for his successful NFL career with the Green Bay Packers, was born on this day in 1968.
Butler was born in Jacksonville, Florida, where he faced significant physical challenges during his childhood, including the need for leg braces and time spent in a wheelchair. He overcame these difficulties to achieve recognition at the high school and college football level, ultimately being drafted by the Packers in 1990.
During his 12 seasons with the Packers, Butler became a four-time All-Pro and is recognized for creating the Lambeau Leap, a popular touchdown celebration. His contributions to the team included winning a Super Bowl and being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2022.
