Pro Football Hall of Famer Joe Thomas was inducted into the Wisconsin Athletics Hall of Fame last Thursday. Originally from Brookfield, Wisconsin, Thomas played college football at UW-Madison before being drafted by the Cleveland Browns as the third overall pick in 2007.

Local 5 Sports’ Carson Fowler spoke with Thomas just before his induction ceremony in Milwaukee. Reflecting on the honor, Thomas described it as a “pinch me” moment.

During his career with the Browns from 2007 to 2017, Thomas earned ten Pro Bowl selections and six first-team All-Pro honors. He was also named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2023.

Thomas’s career as an offensive tackle included playing over 10,000 snaps. His enshrinement in the Pro Football Hall of Fame came in his first year of eligibility.
