Junior guard Jizzle James, who was Cincinnati’s leading scorer last season, has been removed from the basketball program. Head coach Wes Miller made the announcement Tuesday.
“Jizzle James has been dealing with personal issues throughout the summer,” Miller said in a statement. “We removed him from the team last month. He is currently not a member of our basketball program. As this is a personal matter, I will have no further comment at this time.”
James is the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame running back Edgerrin James. He was projected to be among the top players in the Big 12 for 2025-26 after receiving All-Big 12 honorable mention recognition last spring.
Over two years at Cincinnati, James became a full-time starter in 2024-25 and played in 35 games, averaging 12.7 points, three rebounds and a team-high 3.5 assists per game.
James entered Cincinnati as a four-star high school prospect ranked No. 60 overall in the Class of 2023 according to the 247Sports composite.
