Jim Kelly announces grandson Beau’s return home after cardiac health crisis

Buffalo Bills former quarterback and Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinee Jim Kelly has shared an update on the health status of his newborn grandson, Beau. In a recent Instagram post, Kelly reported that Beau had returned home after spending thirty-eight days in a pediatric cardiac care unit due to medical complications.

Kelly made the announcement alongside his wife, Jill, stating: “THE BEST UPDATE: Erin and Parker said it best…Home After 38 days… (38 days of desperate prayer. 38 days of leaning on the faith of others. 38 days of tears. 38 days of wondering and worrying. 38 days of choosing to trust God more. 38 days of falling more & more in love with our son every single day. After 38 days in the Pediatric Cardiac Care Center, we’re finally home.)”

The family expressed their gratitude for support received from fans and offered thanks for prayers during this challenging period, which included Beau undergoing surgery at one week old and requiring a ventilator for a time.

Kelly’s statement described the experience as emotionally difficult for his family but highlighted their relief at being able to spend time together at home again.

Jim Kelly played eleven seasons with the Buffalo Bills from 1986 to 1996, leading them to four straight Super Bowls. He ended his National Football League career with 35,467 passing yards and was selected for five Pro Bowls. The team retired his No. 12 jersey following his tenure.

Kelly was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2002.
