Jerry Jones asks Michael Irvin to mediate Micah Parsons contract dispute

Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, recently appeared as a guest on Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinee Michael Irvin’s YouTube channel. The conversation focused on the Netflix show about Jones and the Dallas Cowboys titled “America’s Team: The Gambler and his Dallas Cowboys.” However, discussion turned to the ongoing contract negotiations with linebacker Micah Parsons.

During their exchange, Jones asked Irvin to play a role in helping resolve the situation between Parsons and the team. “Michael, why don’t you grab Micah and come over here with me? And come here with me and sit down here and bridge this gap?” Jones said.

Earlier in the interview, Jones referred to salary cap management and previous deals made with quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. When Irvin questioned whether the recent offer for Parsons would have made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league, Jones responded: “I can’t necessarily say [that]. It would’ve made him the highest-guaranteed player other than a quarterback in the NFL.”

Jones also criticized agent David Mulugheta, who represents Parsons. “When we wanted to send [the offer discussed with Parsons] over to the agent, he told us to stick it up our ass,” Jones added. “The least incremental part of the whole equations is the attorney or agent.”

The comments suggest that issues around representation continue to impact negotiations between Parsons’ camp and the team.
