Alabama running back Jam Miller has been named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award watchlist. This award is presented annually to the best college football player from Texas.
Miller, originally from Tyler, Texas, begins his 2025 season recovering from a dislocated collarbone suffered during Alabama’s second scrimmage of fall camp. In Miller’s absence, Richard Young and Daniel Hill are expected to take on starting duties for the Crimson Tide until he is healthy enough to return.
Despite the setback, Miller is likely to resume his role as Alabama’s top running back upon recovery. During the 2024 season, Miller averaged 4.6 yards per carry, finishing with 668 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. He also caught 16 passes for 155 yards and one touchdown in that season.
Across his three-year career at Alabama, Miller has averaged five yards per carry with totals of 1,092 rushing yards and ten touchdowns. He has also contributed with 21 receptions for 227 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Miller attended Tyler Legacy High School where he was a four-star recruit in the class of 2022. Ranked as the No. 79 overall prospect nationally and No. 4 at his position that year, Miller switched his commitment from Texas to Alabama in late November 2021 before signing in December and enrolling early in January 2022. At Tyler Legacy, he set records with nearly 4,700 rushing yards and close to 1,000 receiving yards during his high school career.
