The Jacksonville Jaguars have released their first 53-man roster for the 2025 season, signaling significant change under new leadership. Head coach Liam Coen, general manager James Gladstone, and executive vice president of football operations Tony Boselli have overseen a near-complete overhaul of the team. According to the roster announcement, 26 of the 53 players are new additions compared to the previous year’s first roster. This represents a nearly fifty percent turnover in one offseason.
These changes follow the departure of previous leaders Doug Pederson and Trent Baalke earlier in January. The new regime began restructuring in March by moving on from several veterans and key players such as Christian Kirk and Gabe Davis, aiming to reshape the team’s direction.
The youth movement continues with ten rookies making the initial roster out of 26 new members; eight were draft picks this year, while third-round safety Caleb Ransaw was placed on season-ending injured reserve after otherwise qualifying for the team.
Decisions also affected former notable draft selections like Chad Muma, Luke Fortner, and Tyler Lacy, who are no longer with the team as part of this wide-ranging transition.
