Inter Milan is reportedly considering bringing back former goalkeeper Andre Onana, who is currently with Manchester United. According to The Sun, cited via FCInterNews, the Italian club may seek to re-sign Onana after his time in England did not meet expectations.
Onana originally joined Inter Milan from Ajax on a free transfer after his contract expired. The club sold him to Manchester United in the summer of 2023 for more than €50 million, earning a significant profit. At Inter, Onana helped the team reach the Champions League final during his one season at the club.
Since moving to Manchester United, Onana has struggled to maintain the same level of performance that he showed in Italy. Over two seasons with the Premier League club, he has not matched his previous form.
Recently, Onana was absent from Manchester United’s squad during their Premier League opening match against Arsenal. Coach Ruben Amorim stated this absence was due to injury, though reports suggest there may be concerns about Amorim’s trust in the Cameroonian goalkeeper.
Transfer rumors have circulated throughout the summer linking Onana with a move away from Manchester United. Reports now indicate that Inter Milan could be interested in securing his return.
