Hawaii quarterback Micah Alejado is one of the featured players in this weekend’s college football Week 0 player prop bets. Alejado, a redshirt freshman, stands out for his passing potential against Stanford after a strong performance at the end of the previous season. He started just one game for the Rainbow Warriors but recorded 469 yards and five touchdowns in the regular season finale against New Mexico.

Stanford, which struggled on defense last year during its first season as an Atlantic Coast Conference member, allowed an average of 280 passing yards per game and finished last in scoring defense in the conference by giving up 33.7 points per game. Hawaii head coach Timmy Chang is known for encouraging a passing offense, and Alejado is considered to be one of his best options at quarterback entering Chang’s fourth year with the program.

Last year’s starter Brayden Schager completed less than 60 percent of his passes and averaged only 6.3 yards per attempt over three seasons. Despite those results, Hawaii still attempted about 40 passes per game in 2024. This suggests that if Alejado gets a similar number of opportunities against Stanford, surpassing 300 yards is possible.

Fresno State quarterback EJ Warner is also highlighted among this week’s prop bets for his expected number of pass attempts against Kansas. Warner transferred to Fresno from Rice after spending two years at Temple and one at Rice. In his most recent season, he averaged almost 40 pass attempts per game over eleven starts and threw at least thirty passes in ten of those contests.

Warner’s father is Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinee Kurt Warner, who played as a star quarterback for the St. Louis Rams during his professional career.
