Devin Hester‘s son, Drayton Hester, a Class of 2031 prospect, has received his first college football offer. The offer highlights the ongoing trend of earlier recruitment in college football. Drayton is the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinee Devin Hester, who played at the University of Miami and is recognized as one of the most successful players in the program’s history.
Devin Hester, now 42 years old, was an All-American with the Miami Hurricanes and is currently enshrined at the school’s Hall of Fame. He had a notable career in professional football after being selected by the Chicago Bears in the second round of the 2006 Draft. Hester later played for the Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens and Seattle Seahawks.
Hester built his career as a return specialist and remains widely regarded as one of the best to ever play that position in professional football. In addition to making 255 receptions for 3,311 yards and scoring 16 touchdowns as a receiver, Hester still holds several league records: most career return touchdowns (20), most punt return touchdowns (14) and most return touchdowns in a season (six in 2007).
The future for Drayton Hester remains uncertain regarding additional offers and eventual college choice. However, observers suggest that continued interest from Miami is likely as his high school career progresses.
