Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinee Devin Hester recently shared his opinion on the top current returner in the National Football League. Speaking to Hard Rock Bet sportsbook, Hester said, “I like the kid from Dallas, KaVontae Turpin (…) As of right now, I feel like he’s the best in the game.” Hester is known for being the first player who was primarily a returner to be enshrined into the Hall.
During his career, Hester returned six kickoffs and 14 punts for touchdowns. He notably returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown in Super Bowl 41 against the Indianapolis Colts in 2007.
KaVontae Turpin has made an impact as a return specialist, appearing in two Pro Bowls over three seasons. Last season, Turpin earned an All-Pro selection and led the league in both kick return yards and yards per return. In addition to his performance on special teams, Turpin set personal records as a receiver with 31 receptions and 420 yards last year.
Turpin had what was described as a standout training camp with the Dallas Cowboys this preseason and could be set for his most successful campaign so far.
