Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinee Devin Hester recently named KaVontae Turpin of the Dallas Cowboys as the top current returner in the National Football League. In a conversation with Hard Rock Bet sportsbook, Hester said, “I like the kid from Dallas, KaVontae Turpin. As of right now, I feel like he’s the best in the game.”
Hester is considered a knowledgeable voice on special teams, having been enshrined as the first player who was primarily a returner in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. His career included six kickoff and 14 punt returns for touchdowns, notably running back the opening kickoff of Super Bowl 41 against the Indianapolis Colts in 2007.
Turpin has established himself among league leaders at his position. He has received two Pro Bowl selections over his last three seasons. Last year, Turpin earned All-Pro honors for the first time while leading the National Football League in both kick return yards and average yards per return. On offense, Turpin set personal highs as a receiver with 31 receptions and 420 receiving yards — more than doubling his previous season’s production.
With strong performances during training camp this year, Turpin may be headed toward his most productive season to date.
