Karrueche Tran was seen alongside Deion Sanders as he prepared for bladder cancer surgery, according to an 18-minute documentary released by Deion Sanders Jr.’s media company. The video was made public following Sanders’ announcement of his diagnosis on Monday, July 28. In the footage, Tran is visibly emotional while sitting next to Sanders before his surgery to remove his bladder. Sanders had revealed in a press conference that a cancerous tumor was found on his bladder.

Tran explains in the documentary, filmed in May, that doctors will create a new bladder for Sanders using part of one of his intestines and that the entire bladder will be removed to “ensure the cancer doesn’t come back.” Dr. Janet Kukreja said that the NFL Hall of Famer is now “cured.” There has been no official confirmation regarding any relationship between Sanders and Tran. USA TODAY has reached out for comments.

Depend underwear brand has confirmed a partnership with Deion Sanders following his bladder removal surgery. According to the video, Sanders was diagnosed on April 14 and mentioned losing about 25 pounds during his battle with cancer. He also noted changes in how he urinates. Sanders is preparing for his third season as coach at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Sanders, an eight-time Pro Bowler, played 14 seasons in the NFL and scored 22 touchdowns during his Hall of Fame career as a cornerback, return specialist, and occasional wide receiver. He is one of only two players in NFL history to score a touchdown six different ways: interception return, punt return, kickoff return, receiving, rushing, and fumble recovery; the other player being Hall of Famer Bill Dudley.
