Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders has reinforced strict classroom and dress code rules for his players as they prepare for the upcoming season. In a video from a recent team meeting, Sanders addressed the expectations he holds regarding student behavior and attire both in-person and during online classes.
Sanders stated: “No slides. I’m going to send people to campus tomorrow. If I see you with slides on campus, it’s going to be a problem. If I see you with a hoodie on in class with some headphones on in class, it’s going to be a problem. If I see you sitting in the back of the classroom, it’s going to be a problem. Do we understand that? And if you’re online and you have online classes, and you don’t have a shirt on or you got a wife-beater on or you have something stupid on and causing distractions, or you’re walking around during that online session, there’s going to be a problem.”
These rules continue the philosophy Sanders has promoted since joining Colorado. The approach aims to encourage discipline among athletes beyond the football field by demanding focus and respect in academic settings.
The program saw four players drafted—Travis Hunter, Shedeur Sanders, Jimmy Horn Jr., and LaJohntay Wester—in the most recent NFL Draft. Four additional former Colorado players also signed undrafted free agent contracts this past spring.
According to reports, Sanders believes that setting such standards helps his athletes not only become better players but also grow as individuals.

The policies reflect Sanders’s continued efforts to combine athletic achievement with educational accountability at Colorado.
