Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders announced on Monday that he had surgery to remove his bladder after doctors found a previously seen tumor was no longer present. Sanders confirmed there are no traces of cancer, allowing him to continue coaching this season. NFL Hall-of-Famer Randy Moss, who has also faced cancer recently, has been a significant support for Sanders during his recovery.
At a press conference, Sanders shared the importance of his relationship with Moss, saying, “Randy Moss prayed for me, he and his wife, told me what I need to be doing… I love him to life.” He added that Moss provided strength and guidance during this challenging time. Sanders also mentioned that Moss plans to attend a game this year.
Sanders addressed speculation about his ability to coach this season at the Touchdown Club in the Dal Ward Athletic Center. Dr. Janet Kukreja from the University of Colorado Cancer Center joined him in answering questions and confirming that Sanders will be on the sidelines in Boulder.
Randy Moss is known for his impressive NFL career, with 15,292 receiving yards and 156 touchdowns. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.
