Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has announced a new partnership with Depend, the adult bladder protection brand. This comes after Sanders shared that he had been diagnosed with bladder cancer and recently completed treatment.

During a medical press conference in July, Sanders said, “I depend on Depend, if you know what I mean (…) I truly depend on Depend. I cannot control my bladder.” Following this announcement, Sanders took to social media to post a photo of himself with the product, accompanied by the message: “I wasn’t joking! I truly DEPEND on Depend. Ain’t NO SHAME in taking care of yourself. NO SHAME in getting health screenings. And there certainly ain’t NO SHAME in needing added protection or using Depend to stay in the game. That’s not weakness — that’s WINNING.”

Depend responded to Sanders’ post, stating, “No shame at all! We’re proud to help you stay in the game, Coach Prime.”

Sanders’ public embrace of this topic arrives as conversations around men’s health are becoming more prominent. By discussing his health experience and partnering with Depend, Sanders seeks to reduce stigma surrounding issues such as incontinence and encourage others to seek necessary care.
