Deion Sanders addressed the Colorado football team after its recent loss to Houston, leaving the Buffaloes with a 1-2 record early in the season. Following the defeat, Sanders reminded his players of Clemson’s coach Dabo Swinney and his team’s past turnaround, saying, “Why not us?” He also highlighted mistakes made during the game but emphasized some positives that came out of it.
Colorado began its season with a close 27-20 loss to Georgia Tech. However, Georgia Tech’s later upset win against No. 12 Clemson offered some perspective on that result. The Buffaloes secured their first victory in Week 2 against Delaware before losing to Houston last week by a score of 36-20.
The team is experiencing changes after losing key players Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter to the NFL draft in the prior season. As a result, this year is seen as a rebuilding period for Colorado. With most of the schedule still ahead, the Buffaloes will seek improvement when they play Wyoming in their next game.
Sanders told his team about turning things around and continued to motivate them through their challenging start to the season.
