Dave & Adam’s Card World, a collectibles industry company with more than 30 years in the business, has opened a large hobby shop in New York City. The new store is located just north of Herald Square Park at 1350 Broadway and 34th Street and is now considered the largest trading card store in New York City.
The store covers 5,000 square feet and features sports cards, gaming cards, comics, autographed memorabilia, and other items for collectors. According to Adam Martin, founder of Dave & Adam’s Card World, “We’re really pleased with how it’s turned out (…) [The store] is much better than I expected.” Martin added that “We’re trying to grow this industry.” He also said, “I want [the store] to just keep doing what it’s doing.”
The location was years in planning before opening in late spring. The shop contains approximately 300 unopened card boxes across various genres including sports and gaming. There are autographed baseballs, footballs, basketballs, hockey pucks, photos, jerseys and more available for purchase. A breaker section within the store operates almost 24 hours a day.
Among popular items at the store are Pokémon singles as well as Aaron Judge singles and unopened baseball card boxes. Collectors can spend anywhere from $10 to $10,000 or more on individual items.
Some notable memorabilia available includes Tiger Woods-autographed shoes ($2,299.95), an Aaron Judge-signed jersey ($999.95), Patrick Ewing game-worn sneakers ($2,799.95), Brett Favre-autographed helmet ($799.95), framed signed jerseys from Eli Manning ($549.95) and Joe Namath ($529.95), as well as rare cards such as a 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle valued at $10,000.
Other unique offerings include dual-signed footballs by Eli Manning and Michael Strahan ($699.95), Tom Brady-autographed helmets ($1,999.95), Kobe Bryant-signed sneakers ($2,999.95), Lionel Messi-signed soccer balls ($1,599.95), among many others representing different sports.
Pricing for merchandise aligns with prices available through Dave & Adam’s website and adjusts accordingly but remains consistent between physical and online sales.
In addition to its retail space featuring collector items from numerous high-profile athletes such as Muhammad Ali and Roger Federer to historic pieces like a Babe Ruth autographed check (dated January 21, 1946: $6,999.95), Dave & Adam’s NYC has hosted special autograph signings with former professional athletes such as Derek Rose and current Yankees player Ben Rice.
Collectors have access to both modern products like new hobby boxes or Topps T-shirts as well as vintage sealed packs such as a 1978 Topps Baseball cello pack listed at $199.95 (originally priced at thirty cents).
The clean design of the shop provides what some describe as a museum-like atmosphere; one wall highlights the history of Dave & Adam’s journey within the industry.
