Larry Allen, who played offensive line for the Dallas Cowboys from 1994 to 2005, is recognized as one of the most dominant linemen in National Football League history. Drafted in the second round from Sonoma State, Allen became a key figure on the Cowboys’ offensive front thanks to his notable size, strength, and agility.

Allen’s career with the Cowboys included 11 Pro Bowl selections and seven All-Pro honors. He was an important part of Dallas’ Super Bowl XXX victory and was later enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013. During his career, Allen established a reputation for power rarely seen in football. He is frequently described as one of the strongest players ever at his position.

A significant moment that contributed to Allen’s reputation came during a team workout when he bench-pressed 700 pounds—an achievement widely circulated among fans and analysts alike.

Allen was best known for his strength and influence on offensive line play, routinely overpowering defenders and setting high standards for those who followed him.

The countdown piece highlights how Allen’s legacy continues as part of both Cowboys and league history ahead of the new season opener.
