The Dallas Cowboys have been highlighted in ESPN’s “All Quarter Century Team,” a project by Aaron Schatz and Seth Walder. This team includes standout players from the last 25 years, focusing on their performance since the 2000 season. The list is notable for its detailed approach, considering each position separately and including special teams and coaching staff.
One of the prominent figures representing the Cowboys is DeMarcus Ware, who played as a defensive end for the team from 2005 to 2013 before joining the Denver Broncos until 2016. His career stats include 138.5 sacks and 35 forced fumbles, earning him a spot as a one-time Super Bowl Champion and seven-time All-Pro player. Ware ranks third in total sacks since 2000 and fourth in sacks per game among edge rushers.
“Ware had the best balance between great career totals or great peaks with a high ratio of sacks to games played,” said Schatz. Despite not winning a Super Bowl with the Cowboys, Ware’s legacy remains strong among fans, who celebrated his success with the Broncos in 2016.
Alongside Terrell Owens, Ware represents Hall of Fame talent from the Cowboys on this list. Myles Garrett is another player included, noted for his ongoing impressive performance with nearly 13 sacks per season since 2017.
