The TCU Horned Frogs are set to begin their 2025 football season with an upcoming nonconference road game against the North Carolina Tar Heels, who recently appointed Bill Belichick as head coach. As the countdown to kickoff continues, attention is being drawn to former TCU players whose jersey numbers correspond with the number of days remaining until the opener.

One such player is Kenny Hill, who wore No. 7 during his time at TCU from 2016 to 2017. After earning recognition as “Kenny Trill” at Texas A&M, Hill transferred to TCU and participated in 25 games over two seasons. Hill led the Horned Frogs to an 11-3 record in 2017 and was named Offensive MVP for his performance in the Alamo Bowl victory against Stanford. Over his two-year stint, he recorded 6,046 passing yards and 38 passing touchdowns while also rushing for 874 yards and scoring 14 touchdowns on the ground.

In addition to his on-field achievements at TCU, Hill was recognized as a semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien Award and was a finalist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award in 2017 when TCU reached the Big 12 championship game against Oklahoma. Hill was also named Most Outstanding Offensive Player of the Liberty Bowl against Georgia in 2016.

Following college, Hill signed with the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2018 before a brief period with the Montreal Alouettes that same year. Transitioning into coaching, Hill returned to TCU as a student assistant and held multiple roles including graduate assistant, offensive analyst, and quarterbacks coach through recent years. He continued his coaching career at California as an offensive quality control coach in 2022 and moved on to Incarnate Word where he served first as associate head coach and running backs coach before becoming co-offensive coordinator.
