The Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to trade wide receiver Skyy Moore to the San Francisco 49ers in a deal that includes a swap of sixth and seventh-round draft picks in 2027, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. Moore, who won back-to-back Super Bowls with the Chiefs in 2022 and 2023, is entering the final year of his rookie contract.

This move comes as the 49ers are dealing with several issues at wide receiver ahead of Week One. Brandon Aiyuk is expected to miss games until at least Week Six while recovering from knee surgery, and Demarcus Robinson is serving a three-game suspension for violating the National Football League’s substance abuse policy.

“BREAKING: The #Chiefs are trading Skyy Moore to the #49ers, per sources. 2027 6 7 flip,” Schultz reported on social media.

Moore was selected No. 54 overall in the second round of the 2022 National Football League Draft but did not emerge as a key offensive contributor during his time in Kansas City, finishing with seventy-four receptions for four hundred ninety-four yards and one touchdown.

With uncertainty surrounding Jauan Jennings’ availability for Week One and two key receivers unavailable, San Francisco has moved quickly to add depth. “So getting a veteran with big-game experience like Skyy Moore is a tidy piece of work by 49ers GM John Lynch,” Hoegler wrote. The team also recently signed Nate Sudfeld—who won Super Bowl LII as a backup quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles—for added depth following an injury to Mac Jones.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan has yet to specify if Jennings will be available when the season starts against the Seattle Seahawks. With injuries and suspensions limiting options, San Francisco hopes Moore can contribute right away in an offense known for developing players at skill positions.

Analysts noted that while Moore did not reach his potential with Kansas City due to competition from players like Rashee Rice, Travis Kelce, and Xavier Worthy, he offers speed and playoff experience that could benefit San Francisco’s receiving corps while they wait for regular starters to return.
